The Wait is Over!

Here it is: take off day!  I'm just about finished packing up, and should be on the road in about a half hour.  Got hit with a whopper of a head cold Sunday morning, spent most of the day in bed, delirious.  The haze lifted yesterday afternoon, and I should be good for a ten hour day of driving.  Fingers crossed!  Hoping to make Sheridan, WY tonight, which will make tomorrow an easy day with time for a grocery stop in Rapid City.  I'm really looking forward to hitting the nice Midwest weather.  Here in the Northwest it's been chilly, rainy, and this morning it's snowing.  I'm off to make a nice big mug of coffee for the road, finish packing, and hug the family goodbye.

  1. Wow Jessica, your timing couldn't be better, weather wise (not health wise). Going to be cold here all week, I thought you might hit some snow on the way to Sheridan...but hardly...only warming weather. Much warmer weather. Rapid City getting to the mid to high 70's over the weekend, that's warmer then Puerto Vallarta for heaven's sake. I expect to see you post a watercolor sketch by this Friday (you do like assignments). Your watercolor teacher, Stan

  2. Sorry, Stan, I didn't see that you commented here until today. This whole blog thing is still new to me.

Yes, I did love asking for assignments in your class! What can I say, I'm ambitious and motivated and wanted you to really push me. I'm pretty good with the self motivation, and have plenty of ideas up my sleeve for this stay in the Badlands. Your input will always be welcome though, so harass away! For anyone who doesn't know Stan, he is one of only a small handful of watercolorists whose work I really love. Take a look sometime, stanmiller.net. What a lucky coincidence it was for me to move back to Coeur d'Alene a few years ago and find that he's just over in Spokane! Oh, and Stan, I did a little 4x6" sketch at sunset a couple hours after I arrived. How's that?
