Badlands Residency Day 13

Nothing exciting to report today. Spent the day painting, working on set up for next painting, and some sketching.

There's often a magpie around the quad, they have a nest in the gnarled tree out my window. Today not only were the pair hanging around all day, but something of a flock of others was coming and going throughout the day. I really like the magpies. They were talking up a storm when I woke up. Tried for a photo, but the dirty glass and screen on the window don't facilitate a nice result and opening the door sends them flying off.
