Badlands Residency Day 26
Winter storm today means the park is closed and I'm sitting in my cozy, warm apartment, working. Got together materials to enter two competitions, did a little laundry, worked on some sketches.
The snow began late in the morning, and the wind has howled since last night. In mid-afternoon a few of us headed outside to play as the sun began to peek through the clouds amidst the snow. Great fun to stand on the sod tables and lean into the wind. The blizzard petered out here before it even became serious. Still enjoyable to watch. Dinner with a bunch of friends again wrapped up the day.
Tomorrow evening there is an event at my current exhibit at the Dahl Arts Center in Rapid City, SD. Badlands NP Superintendent Eric Brunnemann will speak about the Tribal National Park plan and answer questions. If you're local, you should come. 5:30-7pm in the Cyclorama Mural Room. http://www.thedahl.org/events--the-dahl.html
